The Gros Islet Community Association (UK) in collaboration with the
Canaries, Anse La raye, Dennery and St. Lucia Associations(UK) has
procured 48 wheelchairs for distribution in St. Lucia.
Representative for gros Islet Community Association (UK), Leonard Leon,
has so far distributed 13 wheelchairs throughout the Gros Islet
community. The rest of the wheelchairs will be distributed in Anse La
Raye, Canaries and Dennery through the respective UK association
representatives. He described the recipients as being very thankful for
the gifts.
Leon explained that the association acquired the wheelchairs from a
hospital in the UK that was closing down.
Leon thanked the National Community Foundation that has helped in
clearing the wheelchairs from customs and in getting the wheelchairs
reassembled. |
